Shigeru Ban’s career is brought to public attention in an exhibition highlighting the architect’s achievements and courage in challenging social issues and disasters.

Curated by Sayako Kadowaki, Architecture and Humanitarian Activities explores Ban’s early works as well as his most recent structures.

The exhibition features architectural models, mock-ups, photographs and videos of Ban’s major and important works. The highlight of the exhibition is a series of never-before-shown architectural plans that lead to some of Ban’s groundbreaking projects.

Visitors are encouraged to inspect details and Ban’s choice of materials up close to get a better sense of the magnitude and intricate detail found in all Ban’s structures.

The exhibition pays special attention to Ban’s Cardboard Cathedral in New Zealand as well as his Tamedia building, the largest timber construction in Switzerland.
